VICKY HIPSLEY
Biography

Vicky was born and raised in Southern California where she began drawing and painting at home at a very young age. She was fortunate to have a mother and grandmother who were also artists and who encouraged her inclinations. She graduated from college in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art and a Certificate in Biological Illustration. Following this she was employed for a year as a scientific illustrator before starting an eventful career as a museum artist where she absorbed the natural world, with an emphasis on birds and mammals. In 1991 she received a Master of Arts Degree in Art from California State University, Fullerton. She is now a free-lance artist and is living in Northern California with her husband, Bill.

Over the years Vicky has accumulated many awards. Including a second place in the prestigious Federal Duck Stamp Competition in Washington, D.C. She was recently honored as the featured artist at the "Art at the Classic" in Grass Valley, California.

2001 has brought two new honors for Vicky - featured artist for the San Bernardino County Museum Wildlife Art Festival and selection to produce the California Waterfowl Association 2001 Lifetime Member Print of the Year.
