COMMUNICATION BOARD FAQ's

Return to KRRC Bulletin Board

Here is a brief explanation of some of the questions you may have about the KRRC Communication Board.

What's available in Kern River Recreation Commonwealth Communication Board?

Suggestions, Recommendations and Participation in the management and improvement of various public recreation properties surrounding the Kern River Valley. It is believed that a wealth of support, volunteers, and public input is being ignored at all government levels of public lands management. The KRRC seeks to offer a management tool that incorporates those public views and support. All postings are viewable and beneficial to the public. However, to maintain integrity and order, the actual posting of messages and responses requires prior authorization from the administrator. If you would like to join with us in sharing or expanding your computer interests and knowledge please contact: KRRC regarding participation.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?

No. You can not use HTML tags in any field except body of the message. The KRRC Bulletin Board allows HTML tags in the Message part of your posting. Your html markup will appear in the posting. This Bulletin Board is not the place to advertise businesses and this permit may be discontinued if abused. Please contact KRRC regarding advertising inquiries.

Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a follow-up?

Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to follow-up up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. KRRC has disabled the quoting of previous messages to conserve directory space.

Why didn't my post show up?

Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.

Why are so many screens needed to post messages?

KRRC Bulletin Board includes a "preview page". This allows you to review your message, grammar, and spelling prior to final posting. You may find that this preview will save you some embarrassment in your submittals. We know we've needed it on occasion. Use your browser's back button to redo entry. If you do not see your text in the box click on back button one more time then the forward button, it should appear then. Don't forget to press "Post Message" button on the preview page if it looks ok to you.
